Larger than their love for their nation or any silly soldierly duty, it seemed from their faces and display of power that they were fighting to protect women and children from diseased chimps with rods and knives.

That’s what I find wonderful and humbling. People who learn to hack and slash their own way to survival, and when they achieve that, they fight for others till they’re dead. True Samurai. And a slap in the face of men. If I could make a film or something I would like to convey that scene. I’ll just have to describe it with power in the book.
