Even if I am the only one who says this… iOS 10 is to my disappointment.
From simplicity to complexity, from flattened to slightly inflated, the new iOS 10 brought me more “Err?” than “Wa!” surprises… Here are why.

This is a screenshot from Health. I accidentally opened it so just waited to see what has changed… And it greatly surprises me in, let’s keep it short, 2 points.
1 Why is the font on the graphics returns back to Helvetica? (Not sure, it looks like helvetica)
I have no obligation for the font itself, I mean, it was the font used by Apple before, it is classic and has even a documentary for it… However, why is it that the system font was SF and the graphic font becomes Helvetica? And why is it so bold and big? Why?
(I always couldn’t appreciate helvetica font to be used for a font-size over certain sizes if it is not even “Bold” or “Light”… )
2 Why is the graphics… Like this??
(I am not good at drawing or producing graphics… But this is a bit too much below anticipation.)
First of all, why is the graphics a totally different colour tone than the system? Why do they have different shades and brightness even among themselves? Especially the “Nutrition” and “Sleep”, the orange and blue colour is so obviously brighter than than the navy on the right… Besides, is that a peach, or apricot, or apple or orange on “Nutrition”? Even if they are all healthy, I mean, the others are like so specific…
Moreover, the curvature, shape and streamline of the graphics seemed wrong. Especially for the peach/apricot/apple/orange and the moon.
Conclude. Ugly.

Now this is a screenshot I made upon installation, and the data haven’t been loaded. The other is the screenshot on lock screen, if you slide it to the right.
Why is there a great sense of familiarity… Oh wait, isn’t it a bit like the Google’s card design? This. is. no. where. like. android. design. o.k.a.y.
And no, not completely, you see, the border is so rounded and it is transparent to like 60 or 70%! (I mean, what…)
And! There! is! no! feedback! upon! clicking! on! notifications! Can’t even tell if I’m clicking on it or just caress through my screen. Sigh.
I am just as sluggish as the cat now.
Now that I have changed the system font size to SMALLEST to make it seems a bit better.
Conclude. Abrupt.

And the messaging app.
1 How many people are still using messaging when wifi and internet is everywhere?
2 Assume they are still using it, the features here could be seen as nice to have here, instead of necessary?
What happened to the top bar? Ohh so the name can’t just be displayed along the profile? And the functions in the “i” icon and in the profile photos have to be separated? How would I know if I want to share my location, I should approach the “i” icon? If the bottom gestures are already so complicated, why not just stack every fancy function to the keyboard area?
So couldn’t the keyboard area be re-organised a bit more intuitive?
I think I see what you are doing, you want everyone and their friends to stick with i-messaging and such that they all have to use iPhone and most of its native apps…
Problem is, we have Wechat in China, Whatsapp, Telegram, Facebook, Line and all, and I mean, we would still use those to send drawings and videos and locations to our Android using friends, don’t you think?
And the colour mixture is slightly reluctant.. I mean, they don’t have to be highlighted in their respective app colours right… What a combination with blue, pink and green…
And I need two separate screen designs for “contact information” and “edit contact information”, the latter is barely different that the previous version. So why is there an added intermediate step?
Conclude. Tedious/Redundant.
Apart from the screenshots, there are also the change in emoji, some icons (like Home, what is that?), contact profile photos and stuff. I understand that there is a slight step back towards Skeuomorphism or there is a deviation away from flat design, however, this is now partially inflated only, and it really is not very nice… It is making simple complex.
Some good things left:
1 Added some fluent transitions between actions, the animation soothes my disappointed experience
2 Faster speed
3 I am still searching.
And when I posted this to my friends circle, my dad challenged me by saying, well, you could design it better then.
So let’s see —
