“Revolutionizing High-Performance Computing: AHB Launches Sustainable Data Center with Water Cooling Technology!”
Sharjah, UAE, October 4th, 2023. Al Hathboor Bikal AI & Lenovo partnership conducted and welcomed a big launch of the first sustainable water-cooled High-Performance Compute facility Data Center, which is also the 26th globally, called Maahr in Sharjah Research, Technology and
Innovation Park (SRTIP). This server is incredibly powerful, can handle complex problems,and process massive amounts of data. It will enhance the capabilities of entrepreneurs and scientists in conducting advanced research and driving innovation in areas such as AI, digitalization, and robotics. This will further cement Sharjah’s position as a top Technology and Innovation hub in the region. The event was attended by various industry experts, entrepreneurs, and investors from the UK, UAE, and Uzbekistan.
The launch event started with a breakfast meet and greet followed by opening remarks by Nazir Afzal OBE. Raj Sandhu, GM of Al Hathboor Bikal.ai, then spoke about technology transfer, highlighting how Maahr will facilitate the transfer of research from the university to commercial products and cross-border collaboration between countries.
Chris Miller discussed the use of AI in law enforcement during a session with Jas Dahil, Dr. Vinaytosh, and Sir Nazir Afzal OBE. They tackled significant questions about policies in using AI.
Maykhel De Leon presented the challenge statement, while Jas Dahil moderated a session with domain experts. Ashley Woodbridge spoke about generative AI, followed by a panel discussion on women in tech, led by Sevara Ibrokhim, Yasmin Al Enazi, and Aisha Alkhayyal, and moderated by Jas Dahil at the HPC launch.
Al Hathboor Bikal Ai will support Sharjah to become a fully digitalized city, with an AI first strategy. Domain experts, AI regulators, and tech transfer between organizations and academic sectors will contribute to its development. The success of AI in Sharjah will depend on how seriously they tackle the challenge statements they are trying to solve. The launch of AHB HPC at SRTIP sends a message to the rest of the UAE that Sharjah is ready for the future.
The launch of Maahr at SRTIP is a significant milestone for Al Hathboor Bikal Ai, Lenovo, and the industry. It showcases the importance of technology transfer and cross-border collaborations in driving innovation and growth. Maahr is set to revolutionize the way businesses operate in the UAE and beyond. AHB.ai product development from Sharjah will be based on ideas from its youth population, excellent academic institutions, and collaborative government. AHB.ai former interns were able to showcase their development of a chatGPT model, which they helped to ideate and part develop with AHB.ai’s lead developer, Maykhel De Leon.
SRTIP’s ecosystem works in harmony with Maahr to provide all entrepreneurs, governments, and businesses the basis to develop products for the Emirate which can then be commercialized for export.
