Raining Letters

It’s raining letters…A, B, C and D.

They’re falling and swirling

forming puddles ‘round me.

My umbrella’s no match

for the likes of this storm.

E, F, G and H

broke through its weak form.

I thought I was clever,

hiding under a tree;

but I, J and K

crashed like lightning at me.

So I ran to a rock

and I climbed high on top.

Looking up then I laughed

and I said, “Oh yeah? Now what?”

L, M, N and O didn’t like that one bit,

and they rained down much harder.

Oh it hurt, I’ll admit.

P and Q from the left.

R and S from the right.

Then T shot like an arrow,

which gave me a fright.

The storm just kept coming

and rising some more.

There was now a big flood

with no sign of the shore.

I tried not to panic,

as this letter flood rose,

but that’s quite hard to do

when it’s clean up to your nose.

I thought to myself,

Boy, I’m sure in a fix.

What if U and V

W, X, Y and Z join the mix?

It was then that I quickly

devised a grand plan.

I’ll put letters together

just as fast as I can.

Then these letters formed words,

which made sentences see,

And the letter flood calmed

and stopped raining on me.

The letters weren’t angry,

and the storm had now ceased.

They had all found a home,

they were all now at peace.

So if you are stuck

in a letter storm, too;

don’t be scared,

just make words

and you will get through.
