March 2024 starts with a sad announcement. BitCanna Core team member Johan will leave BitCanna to chase new challenges outside the BitCanna world.
Johan is a BitCanna member of the very first hour. The work started during the launch of the project and the following period where the blockchain based on Bitcoin/Dash technology was created. In that period Johan has helped creating the payment solution operating at that time, the lite wallet and the mobile application which was even accepted in the iOS appstore.
His finest hours were around the migration from the Bitcoin/Dash technology to the newer Cosmos-SDK. The amount of work put in testing the new blockchain as well as guiding the testnet with all the challenges faced in that period was exceptional. We all can still benefit from the efforts made in Q2/Q3 2021.
And now the time has come to part with Johan. In the coming few weeks we will make sure all work will be transferred to the other team members. We will surely miss him in the Core Team. His position will not be filled immediately, but we will take it along with the developments around BitCanna Labs and the new opportunities arising from that new aspect of the BitCanna project.
Johan will still remain part of our community. We wish him all the best and our paths will cross very often!
