For at least a decade, people have been raising concerns over Google regarding the dangers and privacy implications of having a centrally located, widely popular data warehouse of millions of Internet users’ searches. This is especially concerning because governments have special laws in place that can force Google to hand over users’ private data to government officials. No wonder Privacy International has ranked Google as “Hostile to Privacy”, the lowest rating on their report.

Google has been criticized with disclosing too much information to governments too quickly. To give you some numbers, between July and December 2016, Google received over 45500 requests from governments all over the world to reveal user information. Out of all these requests, Google complied with 60%, which means that more often than not Google will provide private user information to governments when requested.

But wait! Isn’t this a good thing? While removing hostile information, such as child pornography, and enabling governments to battle terrorism may be good, there is a dark side to this matter. The very fact that Google can be asked to hand over private user data reveals a very important truth — Google owns and stores your data, and has the means to search, analyze and retrieve it. Most people will agree this is not good, because there is always a risk that someone in control will leak this information or misuse it in a way you don’t want.

Are you worried about big corporations collecting and storing your private data? Are you among the growing tide of people who believe that data centralization is dangerous? Imagine a world where you can type in a search, receive relevant information, and be safe that no one will misuse this data. Imagine an encrypted decentralized ecosystem that is not owned by anyone and that guarantees anonymity and privacy by design. This is the world envisioned by BitClave. Go to www.bitclave.com and find out how this will become a reality and how it can benefit you!
