Angel Leon I think that at this point there is not a strong commercial incentive for creating these types of APIs. 21 Inc. are trying to develop this niche because no one else is willing to do it. Also, you do not have to buy the actual Bitcoin computer. A mentioned in my post — you can use a Pi or even a web server (I think Amazon is providing some type for free). All you need to do is install the 21 Bitcoin computer software. I am sure that if these bitcoin-payable APIs become popular, 21 Inc will have competitors. Their primary advantage as first comers will be the huge knowledge-base they are developing, but technologically the playing field can be leveled quite quickly.
