I don’t follow your logic, you’re getting paid by a company to fill a specific role, and yes that role does include advocating on behalf of users but it also includes collaborating with your coworkers not fighting with them! And your statement that you’d resign if forced to “degrade the design” doesn’t sound like you’re very committed to the team, the product, or the company, only yourself and your own portfolio. I hope I never have to work with you, or anyone who follows this philosophy.
