Our Story

BizBuddies is more than just a startup company. We are a group of twenty-one individuals who come from a variety of backgrounds and have joined together to make a difference. It is our similarities and differences though that make us a unique organization. We are all first-year students at Babson College: a school ranked #1 for entrepreneurship for the past 19 years by US News and World Report and sits only behind Stanford as the best college in the US by Money Magazine. Here at Babson the cornerstone of the first-year program is the course Foundations of Management and Entrepreneurship, a class that effortlessly combines the liberal arts and business focus that Babson prides itself with. This specialized class, offered only at Babson, teaches the principles of entrepreneurial thought and action while giving students the tools they need apply their knowledge in creating their own company.

At the beginning of the semester we knew we would be given money to start our own business, but none of us had any clue what that business would be. Many ideas were pitched and opportunities explored. Our group soon came to the realization that even as we were learning the ins and outs of business at age 18, what would be more beneficial than teaching the same lessons to children?

Looking into the education of today’s children, we found that they are not learning about business in their early childhood curriculum. We believe that if children learn the basics of the material we are learning now, wouldn’t the results be incredible? This is where we came up with the idea of writing a children’s book that teaches entrepreneurship. Children will now be exposed to the ideals of entrepreneurship when they are young and their minds are full of creativity. We believe that our book will be able to create a social movement to inspire entrepreneurial thought and action, and also help develop leadership, innovation, and creativity amongst the younger generations.
