Hack email distraction

Conventional email interfaces pose a huge challenge for me. I often sit down with the intention to write an email, but after opening Gmail, I’m immediately distracted by a slew of unread messages and chat windows. It looks something like this:

Only 25% of the screen is occupied by what I actually want to be doing. Tempted by these visible unread messages and blinking chat windows, I get distracted from the original task or email-writing.

My solution to the clutter: Try it out

The page shows a blank message without your inbox or Gchat to distract you. I’ve bookmarked this and use it every time I draft a new email. I hope you find it useful.
