Then ask for a raise. Do you not know how the free market works? It’s your fault you’re payed less.

No it’s not my fault I’m paid less. As a employee of a state funded institution I am bound by a contract that is non-negotiable in terms of salary. The state sets the salary. And with the cuts in my very red state, there hasn’t been any sort of raise, not even a small cost of living in many years.
