Because, again, the issue isn’t about the story, it’s about the re-telling of stories whereas various ethnic, religious, and sexually-identifiable groups are changed from the original version to a white version for no other reason than the fact that people in this country overwhelmingly accept it.

For instance, Power Rangers is probably not a good movie. It probably won’t make billions of dollars. It has a rabid, if niche, fanbase. However, they made sure that the actors and actresses selected represented the gamut of ethnic and sexual origin, because that’s what the show did 25 years ago.

Why is that so hard to do?
