Athleticism

Q.A.B. 6.50 Washington is a very physical athlete. He has quick feet and excellent balance. He doesn’t have the twitch that other receivers in the class possess.

Flexibility 7.50 Washington has excellent flexibility. He can go up and attack a ball at its highest point. He can twist and torque his body in order to make tough catches. After the catch he runs with good pad level.

C.O.D. 6.50 He is a very powerful player and can plant his foot and drive up field.

Explosion 7.00 Washington is an explosive athlete that has big play ability. He displays good burst in and out of his breaks.

Deep Speed 7.50 Washington is a big play receiver with the build up speed to threaten defenses deep. He doesn’t have elite acceleration, but once he gets to top speed he can be dangerous. He has the ability to track the ball and run underneath it.

Without Ball

Quicks Off LOS 7.00 He is very fluid off the line of scrimmage, but he doesn’t have great explosion. He has a good first step and has no wasted motion; however, it takes him time to build up to full speed. He has a smooth release.

Release VS Jam 8.00 Washington is very physical and utilizes his hands when faced in press. He has a smooth release, and he can fight off a defender quickly. He has the speed to gain a step on a defender when jammed at the line.

Route Running 6.00 Washington can be stiff when running his routes. He has great burst out of his breaks, but takes time to build up speed. He needs to sink his hips, but he attacks the ball well out of his route.

Separation 6.50 Washington has good speed and can find the open space in the defense. Oklahoma State often through the ball deep and let Washington run underneath. He can gain good separation and often beats his coverage to the ball.

Blocking 7.00 He is a strong and physical player. He is a willing blocker that can mirror defenders when blocking. He has the ability to throw the defender around and disrupt his path to the ball carrier. He can be grab the jersey occasionally and get caught for holding. He does a great job stock blocking the defenders and getting them out of the play.

With Ball In Hands

Hands 8.50 Washington displays excellent hands. They are extremely strong and can make tough contested catches seem routine. He has excellent concentration and doesn’t let traffic disrupt his play making ability.

Yard After Contact 7.50 Washington is a very physical receiver and can power through contact. He has great balance and lowers his pad level upon impact. He has a running back build which helps him run through contact. He utilizes a nice stiff arm to keep defenders away from his body.

Ability in Space 6.50 Washington has good speed but isn’t very shifty. He can outrun defenders, but has trouble avoiding them in the open field.

Ball Security 8.50 Washington has excellent ball security. He has only fumbled once in 240 career touches.

Competitiveness

Toughness 8.50 Washington is very tough and durable. He has had no injury history throughout his career and has a nice muscular build. He can play through some dinges and bruises but there is no reason to doubt his durability at the next level.

Production 9.00 Washington has been one of the most productive receivers at the collegiate level thanks to Oklahoma state’s high flying offense. He had the benefit highly regarded quarterback Mason rudolph throwing him passes throughout his career. Washington has had back to back season of 70+ receptions and 1300+ yards. He has at least 10 touchdowns in each of the last three seasons. He is a big play threat.

Consistency/Motor 8.00 Washington gives his all on each play. He never gives up on a play and works back to his QB when the play had broken down. He is a leader on the team and fights for extra yards each time he gets the ball in his hands.

Intelligence

Instincts 7.00 Washington has natural instincts. He can sense when the ball is coming and tracks the deep ball exceptionally well. He can find the open space in the defense and work his way open when covered.

Learn/Retain 7.00 Washington has been an impact player for washington State since his true freshman season. He has played an integral role in the passing game and is a very quick learner. He is a very smart player. He hasn’t been exposed to a full complement of receiver routes and may take time to adjust to full NFL route tree.

Position Versatility 6.00 Washington doesn’t have very much versatility at the receiver position. He will not assist on special teams, and he doesn’t have the short area quickness slot receivers are known for. He is a deep threat and will primarily be an outside receiver with the ability to stretch the field and make contested catches over the middle.

Washington has extremely strong hands and consistently makes tough contested catches. He has excellent concentration and doesn’t let traffic disrupt the play. Washington has natural flexibility. He attacks the ball at its highest point and can twist his body in order to make tough catches. He has great awareness and seems to know where the sideline is on each play. Washington is very durable with no injury history. He has a good muscular build. He has been one of the most productive receivers at the collegiate level and thrived as Oklahoma State’s deep threat.

Weaknesses

Washington is a physical athlete with a running back’s build at the receiver position. He is a very fluid athlete with great playing speed and power. Washington doesn’t possess great acceleration and takes time to build up to full speed. He doesn’t explode off the line of scrimmage and can struggle to gain separation before he hits his second gear. Washington is stiff when running routes. He has good burst in and out of his breaks, but he isn’t a natural route runner and can get lost at the top of his route. He needs to consistently sink his hips, but he has shown the ability to attack the ball out of his route. Washington isn’t shifty with the ball in his hands. He can outrun angles but has trouble avoiding contact in open space. Washington will not have much position versatility at the next level, unless he can become a polished route runner. Washington will primarily play on the outside as a deep threat with big play ability.

Big Picture

Washington is a physical athlete with quick feet and outstanding balance. He has excellent flexibility consistently high pointing the ball and twisting his body in the air to make tough catches. He has strong hands and doesn’t lose concentration in traffic. He can make contested catches all over the field. He has big play ability and great playing speed, but he doesn’t have great acceleration and can struggle to gain separation. He uses his hands extremely well when faced in press and can gain separation at the line utilizing is power and balance. Washington is a stiff route runner, and he can get lost at the top of his route. He has excellent power and lowers his shoulder upon impact. He can effectively power through contact. Washington utilizes a nice stiff arm to keep defenders away from his body. He is a very durable player with no injury concerns heading into the next level. Washington has the potential to be a talented receiver at the next level. He needs to develop as a route runner, but he has the ability to become an impact player as the deep threat in an offense.
