Guide: Purchase CAT using Parity (Browser Extension)
Step One: Install Parity
Visit the Parity website https://parity.io/ to download and install Parity on your machine by following their installation instructions.
Step Two: Create an account & wallet
Follow the setup instructions for creating an account, this will give you a wallet address. Be sure to safely store your “Recovery Phrase” where nobody else can find it.
Step Three: Install the official Parity browser extension.
In this example, we’ll be using Google Chrome.
If you do not wish to use the Parity browser extension, we have also written a guide to purchase CAT without the extension.
Step Four: Acquire Ether
The purchase of CAT tokens requires Ether.
If you already have Ether, just transfer some to your Parity address.
If you require Ether, you can purchase some on well known cryptocurrency exchanges. Some examples include Coinbase, Poloniex or Kraken.
IMPORTANT: Do not attempt to purchase CAT using a wallet address on a cryptocurrency exchange. To purchase CAT you must use a wallet that allows you to interact with ERC20 token contracts. We have provided guides for MyEtherWallet, Parity and MetaMask. Though many other services also support this.
Step Five: Check the Token sale has begun.
The Token sale will begin at block 4027470. If the current block number is equal to or higher, then the contract has begun. You can check the current block numbers here: https://etherscan.io/blocks
Do not send Ether before the sale has begun.
Step Six: Sending Ether to the contract
Once on the official BlockCAT tokensale page (http://blockcat.io/tokensale), our site will detect you have Web3 support and you’ll see a Parity box in the corner.
Just enter the amount of Ether you wish to send, and click “Receive CAT”.
Parity will prompt you for your account password. Once entered, just click “Confirm Request”.
Congratulations, you have now purchased CAT!
Once the sale reaches the minimum cap, CAT will immediately be available to use. If the minimum cap is not reached, you will be refunded.
