From June 20–22, over 400 professionals were united by their enthusiasm for sharing knowledge and improving cryptocurrency and blockchain technology. Blockchain Foundry CEO Dan Wasyluk, newly appointed CMO Earl Flormata, and Sebastian Schepis CIO and creator of Syscoin, seized the opportunity to learn, share, and network at the prestigious Bahamas Blockchain & Cryptocurrency Conference (BBCC 2018) in Freeport, Grand Bahama Island (Bahamas), where Schepis was a selected speaker.

The conference provided the opportunity for experts from around the world in the blockchain and cryptocurrency space to learn, collaborate, and network. The Blockchain Foundry team had the pleasure of listening to Prime Minister of The Commonwealth of the Bahamas, the Hon. Dr. Hubert Minnis, Dr. Donovan Moxey of the Grand Bahama Tech Club, who has chaired the government-appointed Technology Hub Steering Committee, Investment Officer for the Office of the Prime Minister, Shamine Johnson, and Minister of State for Grand Bahama, the Hon. James Kwasi Thompson.

Sebastian Schepis Spoke About “E-Commerce on the Blockchain”

Sebastian Schepis was selected to speak about “E-commerce on the Blockchain” on June 21st, 2018 in front of the conference’s distinguished audience. Schepis discussed the future of the technology in relation to e-commerce, Blockchain Foundry Inc., the innovations brought to the industry by the Syscoin protocol, and the current and future impediments the industry is facing.

The speech was well-received by the attendees and quickly became the most trending topic on Twitter with relations to the #BBCC2018 hashtag, opening the door to many possible future partnerships and associations as the team worked on building connections during the rest of the conference.

Meeting with the Bahamas Government

Dan, Sebastian, and Earl had the opportunity to attend meetings with a few prominent members of the Bahamas Government including Omar A. Isaacs, Investment Relations of the Bahamas Office of the President. “I am grateful to have experienced this conference. Dan and I learned a lot of valuable information, and made many great new connections.” said Sebastian Schepis. Earl Flormata also concluded that “This was a very successful experience for us, we look forward to building on the fantastic connections we made while attending.”.

The Highlights

This year’s conference attendees were privileged to hear from brilliant new companies, well known cryptocurrency and blockchain personalities, and some of the most influential members of the Government of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas.

Educational seminars were presented by Blockchain Foundry’s Sebastian Schepis on the future e-commerce with blockchain technology. Among the presentations, we enjoyed hearing Jed Grant, CEO of Peer Mountain, on how Peerchain technology can be implemented to provide financial institutions with accurate real-time trust profiles. All selected speakers shared the goal of bettering the field overall and improving the ways this technology is applied.

Panel presentations focused on the technology sector in The Bahamas and featured John Rolle, Governor of the Central Bank of The Bahamas and Carol Roach — Director of the Department of Information Technology, Keith Davies, CEO of the Bahamas International Securities Exchange, and many others.

The bulk of the presentations were focused around emerging blockchain and cryptocurrency companies and the commitment the Bahamas Government is taking to develop a sustainable digital environment for its citizens. Many attendees were saying how much they enjoyed learning about the opportunities the Prime Minister is creating for his citizens with free technology academic programs. The format of the conference made room for emerging new ideas and for collaboration to develop strategies that helped everyone forward within the cryptocurrency and blockchain space.
