Consensus is right around the corner and with it our plans to share firsthand what we’ve been developing with Blockmarket for Desktop. Just a few days ago we released Beta 2 of Blockmarket for Desktop with support for image uploads with offers and it’s been received with great excitement by the community.

Our presence at Consensus isn’t just about showing off Blockmarket for Desktop — it’s about showing the breadth of Blockchain Foundry’s (and by association, Syscoin’s) capabilities; both from the perspective of building our own blockchain product (Syscoin 2.1.3) to building on top of that platform with cutting edge technologies like Blockmarket for Desktop and building custom blockchain solutions tailored to individual business’ needs.

As we prepare the materials needed to really show the range of what our company and currency can do; it is imperative to evaluate the list of critical and high-priority issues that we must fix prior to presenting our final product. With this in mind, we have decided that more time is needed to provide a proper official release candidate that meets the expectations of our community and users who’ve yet to even experience Syscoin.

Ensuring Security via Third Party Security Audit

At Blockchain Foundry, we place a high priority on releasing secure products. When delivering new software which is untested on main-net there may be security attack vectors that can be exploited. Blockmarket uses cutting-edge front-end technology to deliver a better user experience for Syscoin services. Using this technology has obvious benefits, but the fact that it is new technology means that there can be unknown and untested attack vectors. In order to release the best, most secure product possible, we have engaged a third-party software development firm to perform a security audit of all of Blockmarket’s functionality. Although our beta testing has been very successful to date, releasing Blockmarket for Desktop to Syscoin’s mainnet without an audit would be irresponsible and could run the risk of serious consequences for users who are using real funds on the platform before it has been rigorously security tested. Our audit partner is familiar with blockchain technology and their findings will help us to produce the most secure final product possible.

More Betas for a Better Final Product

Originally, our tentative plan was to launch Blockmarket on Syscoin’s main-net on May 22nd, coinciding with the first day of Consensus 2017. As we need to ensure that the software is issue-free and security-audited before people use real funds within Blockmarket, the product that we will be presenting at Consensus will be our Beta 4 release. At the conference we will run this on a private test-net for demoing purposes. Beta 4 will be released and available via our public test-net so users can appreciate what is being presented at Consensus and can see how the product is continually evolving at a rapid pace.

Current Blockmarket Desktop beta 2

Our main goal post-Consensus is to get a final release out to the public and on Syscoin’s main-net as soon as possible, along with the requisite marketing this major release deserves. The initial final release of Blockmarket for Desktop will include arbitrated escrow functionality, fixes for all critical and high-priority issues, and will likely undergo a Beta 5 (final beta) before final release of Blockmarket Desktop v1.0.0. We will deliver the final release as soon as possible and are targeting early to mid June 2017. Blockmarket Desktop is Blockchain Foundry’s largest product release to date and will include an extensive marketing effort. We are not cutting corners with this release. We will be releasing continuous updates to Blockmarket Desktop throughout 2017 and will introduce additional functionality like multi-signature support and reseller support through these updates. We remain committed to the highest quality final release both in terms of security and usability.

We’re excited to present Blockchain Foundry, Blockmarket for Desktop and Syscoin at Consensus 2017 and look forward to the connections we’ll make there as well as meeting some of the community for the first time! If you’re attending we’ll be at the booth located on the 5th floor, booth #8 which is just to the left as you come in the room. Hope to see you there!

Syscoin/CNY — China has more options to purchase Syscoin

On a side note, we are happy to announce that Syscoin will be traded for CNY (Chinese Yuan) on blw666.com starting today (May 18, 2017). Blw666 has posted a statement indicating the reasons for adding Syscoin, including: Segwit activation, lightning network debut, Microsoft Azure partnership, and our upcoming Blockmarket release. We are glad that our Chinese community now has more options to acquire Syscoin; blw666 becomes the second “fiat” exchange to trade Syscoin, following Bittylicious in the UK.
