Awesome analogy! In general I think backwards compatibility is important, at least for some time (transition fase) while hardware becomes cheaper.
few questions:
- All miners of course use a big box. As a user to be able to verify signatures, which computer (in terms od memory, HD space) do i need for blocks of 1MB, 2MB and 8MB?
- Segwit does way more than just this right? LN etc?
- If Bcash has bigger blocks, why is there still the risk of segwit@2x? could they not just activate segwit on Bcash for that?
