General update on the Blockshipping ICO from the CEO
Dear Blockshipping community
We have quite frankly also found ourselves overwhelmed — both regarding interest for the project and the ICO, but also concerning how much political attention that the Blockshipping ICO has attracted — more on this later in this newsletter.
We are getting closer to the next important stage of our ICO — the public sale, which opens on May 14 at 2 PM CET. But before that, I would like to share with you some general updates on the progress of the project.
The GSCP Platform
While much of the focus and attention these days are on Blockshipping’s ICO, the core of our mission remains to build the Global Shared Container Platform — GSCP to fundamentally transform the global container shipping industry. The team is working hard to further specify and all the use cases and flows and also on implementing these flows into our prototype. We plan to share a presentation of this prototype by end of May, so stay tuned for more information here.
Industry relations
We are continuing to experience a massive interest in the GSCP platform from many different players across the shipping industry. These dialogues are all progressing well, and as soon as we can announce the results of any of these, we will. However, as we rely on the formal approvals from our potential partners here, we cannot guarantee exactly when we are able to announce these. That said — we have some very good news coming up, so stay tuned.
ICO status
As mentioned, the Blockshipping ICO continues to set the agenda in Nordic and international media. The fact that a project run by seasoned business professionals utilising not only cutting-edge technology but also applies an ICO as an innovative funding mechanism has generated interest from the general public as well as the political and legislative space beyond what we had expected.
The Blockshipping team and our advisors have had to dedicate a lot of time into managing these dialogues, and we still believe that the Blockshipping GSCP ICO has the potential to set a standard for how ICOs could be both lawfully conducted and also fully integrated into existing industry and professional routines.
This means that the Blockshipping GSCP ICO not only transforms the global container shipping industry but potentially also helps transform the future of funding.
Pre-sale practicalities and Token distribution
All of you who have contributed to the presale will receive a personal invitation to register on our sales portal. Those of you who have not yet completed the KYC process will be asked to do so on the portal. KYC (Know Your Customer) is part of the compliance requirements for the ICO.
In the sales portal, you will all be asked to supply the address of your ERC-20 compatible wallet (e.g. MyEtherWallet or similar) to where you would like us to send your CCC tokens. We will distribute the tokens to pre-sale contributors as soon as we have minted the CCC tokens, which we currently plan to do on 13 May 2018.
For those contributors who have no previous experience in setting up your own ERC-20 wallet, we will provide a simple step by step guideline on how to do so. This guide will be published on the Blockshipping ICO website as we open the sales portal.
Airdrop practicalities and Token distribution
For those of you who participated in our airdrop campaign, you are not required to register on the portal nor go through KYC to receive the complimentary CCC tokens. Providing you have met the requirements of the campaign, you will receive your CCC tokens after the end of the public sale to the wallet address you provided when signing up for the airdrop campaign.
Public sale
We are counting down towards May 14 at 2 PM CET and we will make sure to make a formal announcement as soon as the sales portal is open and you can start the registration process and complete the KYC process to allow you to be ready for when the sale opens. We are now in the process of the final testing of the portal to ensure that it allows for the smoothest possible contribution flow during the public sale. We will open the sales portal over the weekend before the public sale starts Monday.
Part of the current work on the sales portal is also to finalise the integration to the options to conveniently contribute using card payments (Visa and MasterCard) — this will be added to the options of contributing in BTC and ETH.
