And I’ve seen a lot of the hard-to-watch films like A Serbian Film, Martyrs, I Spit On Your Grave. But that’s all just torture porn; It makes you turn your head away for a few moments, but doesn’t leave any scars.

I just watched We Need to Talk About Kevin on Netflix and it was labelled as ‘Thriller’. Yeah, right. More like soul crushing horror. It’s not ghosts and ghouls, but it’s something that — deep down — every caring parent would be thinking about and one of their greatest fears. That, to me anyway, is what a real horror does — it makes you fear the unforeseeable outcomes in life.

If you do decide to watch this film, don’t watch any trailers or read up on it on IMDB, or anything for that matter; go in to it totally blind.
