Optimism vs Delusion

Optimism is not a skewed perception of reality, but rather seeing things as they are, no better, no worse. Seemingly easy, this is probably one of the most difficult things to do, to put aside all our fears and insecurities and see the difference between what is bad for us, and what is simply something we don’t like…because…hell knows why, probably 1000 of half cooked reasons. I guess the main difference between realism and optimism is that the optimism is future directed, meaning that we accept how things are now, but we hope and act for better future.
