Blue Rose Book Club- The Book of Memory by Petina Gappah

Following the success of our last book club where we read ‘The Hairdresser of Harare’ by Tendai Huchu, Blue Rose Book Club is back and this time around we will be reading ‘The Book of Memory’ by Petina Gappah. The local publisher of the book is Weaver Press.

Petina Gappah is a lawyer and writer with an LLB from the University of Zimbabwe, a LLM from Cambridge University and a Phd in Law from Graz University. In addition to being a writer and lawyer, upon her return to Zimbabwe, she successfully led a project to revive the Harare City Library. In addition to being the author of ‘The Book of Memory’ she is also the author of the short story collections entitled, ‘An Elegy for Easterly’ and ‘Rotten Row’.

The Blue Rose Book Club will take place at ‘The Old Vineyard’ which is located at 3A1 Highland Glen Road Umwinsidale, Harare, Zimbabwe on Saturday the 18th of March 2017. The event will begin at 1900. To attend the Book Club you will need a copy of the book, which can be found at Weaver Press, which is located at 38 Broadlands Road, Emerald Hill.
