Debates regarding mass unemployment, welfare, job guarantees and universal incomes have been ongoing for decades. Here are two possible, but extreme outcomes:

a) a gift economy

b) you don’t work, you don’t eat

Debates will not bring about those outcomes — only a political movement can do that. In all likelihood there will be a power struggle. The group or the movement with the most power will prevail.
