I couldn’t agree more, but I’ll go a bit further. Artists are being ripped off, but not because end users aren’t paying or wouldn’t be willing to pay. What they aren’t willing to do is to pay $50-$100 month to access the internet, buy devices to connect to the internet, etc., then pay more to access bits of content. What end users aren’t willing to do is shell out $10/month for ten different streaming services to get a little bit of exclusive content on each.

If you want to know who’s ripping off artists, look at the companies making money providing access (for a fee). Apple alone made more in profit than the entire music industry had in revenue, and only a fraction of music industry revenue went to artists.
