Here it goes — my one year daily blogging adventure starts today

I am a big, big fan of self-directed learning. One of my learning objectives that I have been working on in the past months is related to Social Media and building meaningful relationships using both online and offline platforms.

By pursuing this learning objective I’ve managed to get connected to great people and find inspiration in the most unexpected places. Jonas Ellison‘s story on how one year of blogging changed his life put some gas on my fire. Coupled with Lisa Illman’s daily encouragement to publish something in the online world.

And while I’ve been thinking about starting a daily journaling routine for years, I needed that kick in the butt. So what happened? What was that kick in the butt? Today I’ve lost my grandmother. As with all sad events like this, this made me think about time and the way we spend it.

Why am I doing this? To train my creativity. To improve my writing skills (I sure know I have lots of work to do here — maybe this will even turn into a new learning objective). To connect with people. To share stories. Maybe to inspire others. To get to know myself better. To spice up my daily routine. To embark on a new adventure. There are plenty reasons.

What will I be writing about? My main focus will be on the areas that occupy most of my time on a day to day basis: learning, travelling, training, essential oils, food, productivity, Google Apps — a mix of what is happening to me, what I provoke happening, my successes and failures, what I learn from them or what I wish I would have known prior. At times I might just post random bits and pieces — who knows what events will inspire me.

I’d be happy to hear from you, what your opinion is, what your questions are, what resonates with you and what doesn’t.

Let the ship set sail!
