Hubris…

Just like Sisyphus
My hubris lands me here
at the foot of a hill, boulder in hand.
All lies, deceitfulness and self-aggrandizing craftiness
only earned me more misery from what I was trying to escape.

I no longer want control.
My scheming and planning
to avoid life's hardship
earned me only more pain and drudgery.
May God halt my punishment now
I have had enough.
This boulder is heavy
and my back hurts.
