Hi, Gerard…

I appreciate your take.

I was talking precisely about the Haight in this piece being the vanguard of the movement.

Whatever their agenda, it didn’t last; therefore, on the whole, it didn’t work.

I was down in So Cal in ’69 and I remember well those days, but yes, by then, a travesty.

All I have seen from hippies is that they grew up, found jobs, bought houses and lived exactly like their parents.

That was my thesis statement in this piece.

Did the Brylcreem go? Sure.

Very little else.

Maybe the only highlight from that time is that men are more hands-on with their kids now, which is a very good thing.

Thank you, Gerard, for your perspective on this singular fleeting moment in time.
