Why so many developers hate recruiters

Great article, I wish I had read this a few weeks ago.

Background :I am working a full-time job and learning to code in the evenings and weekends. I have updated my LinkedIn page as per FCC and many others recommendations to say I am a web developer. I have completed my profile page and am in the process of pushing smaller, completed projects to it and GitHub.

A few weeks ago, I got an InMail from a recruiter about a job in my city. I was excited, as my city is not a mecca for web development. Once I responded, they ‘corrected’ the previous location to another city, but asked if the commute was acceptable. I indicated that it was okay and that I would be interested in hearing about the job. Instead, the recruiter requested a resume and that we set up a time to ‘chat’ about the position that day. I should mention, that these emails(InMails) would show up around 10 am. I leave for my job at 6 am and cannot check my emails until lunch or later. The next day, I sent the resume and mentioned that I was still working a day job while trying to transition into full time web development. It has been two weeks and I have not heard back for the recruiter. After reading this I am not surprise by the lack of response. It is no wonder they have such bad reputations. Live and Learn.
