Anthony Bourdain’s Unknown Parts
Matt Gross

I know Bourdain was a reader but I wonder if he had ever read Montaigne the great French essayist and philosopher? There is an excellent biography of him called, “How To Live”. It is an explanation and road map on being human. Montaigne’s greatest insight was perhaps to slow down and, “pay attention”. Realize that you are alive and think about what that means. As Shakespeare said in King Richard II, I think it was, “And nothing can we call our own but death.”
