After not having a dentist appt for over a year, I signed up for dental insurance along with my marketplace health benefits without fully reading/comprehending the plan docs. So imagine my surprise when I’m on the hook for a $75 deductible as well as the monthly premiums. (I was mostly surprised because it was the same insurance provider and dentist I had in the past, when I had no OOP deductible unless I got fillings.)

We have a new local dentist advertising a cheap rate for a cleaning + x-rays and that is totally what I’m going with next year when I drop this insurance. I’d better get any fillings (not likely, with my history) taken care of this year while I have insurance though!
