My hobby is also expensive. Sweet Adelines dues are almost $400 a year, and we pay out of pocket for all the extra events we attend (hotels, gas, meals, registration, etc). I don’t get exercise, but it’s the only reason I’ve made new friends since college. Having a community and support system like that is an incredible thing.
