So running horror story time, courtesy of my husband:
His father was cross country coach at our high school, so as a freshman my husband went out for the team. After a while he also started complaining that his shins hurt him every time he ran. But he tried to tough it out until during one race he literally collapsed. They took him to the doctor and it turned out his shin bones were actually splintering from the impact of running and skewering his leg muscles with every step.
So…this is probably not likely to be your problem, but moral of the story is “get that shit checked out, for real.”
