Living At Home Again? Check. Paying Rent? Rain Check.

We graduated in the spring of ’08 and got married that summer. Neither of us had jobs lined up, so we decided we’d live in his parents’ basement for a while. I ended up getting a job right after that, but we didn’t pay rent or really contribute in any way, aside from trying to not make more expenses or dirty dishes. I was so worried about money (or lack of it) that if we bought our own groceries we kept them separately so they wouldn’t use them…yeah I’m not proud about that in retrospect. *cringe*

But early-20-somethings can be cluelessly myopic. I am still grateful for those 6 months though because they allowed us to save up a nice nest egg for our house.
