Bradley Benton Stunkel plays baseball at the University of South Florida (USF), where in 2017 he earned honors as a second-team all-conference athlete. In his senior year in 2018, Bradley Benton Stunkel will compete under a new head coach.

USF announced on June 30 that Billy Mohl will assume responsibilities as head coach of the Bulls. The move comes shortly after the departure of former head coach Mark Kingston, who accepted a position at the University of South Carolina.

Mohl spent the previous three seasons as an assistant coach at USF. During this time, he led the pitching staff to some of the most impressive seasons in the history of the program. The staff’s 620 strikeouts in 2017 broke the USF record and marked the first time that Bulls pitchers recorded at least 500 strikeouts in three consecutive years. Mohl also guided his pitchers to national prominence, as the staff’s more than 10 strikeouts per nine innings stood out as the best rate in the country from 2015 to 2017.

Mohl came to USF following tenures at Illinois State and his alma mater Tulane. As a pitcher with Tulane, he played on the Green Wave’s 2005 College World Series team and finished his senior season with a 9–0 record.

Away from the baseball field, Mohl has helped to raise nearly $40,000 for cancer research. A native of Sugar Land, Texas, he currently resides in Tampa with his family.
