True diversity has to start from the ground floor

Inspired: of extraordinary quality, as if arising from some external creative impulse.

No teacher will deny that their mission is to inspire students to achieve their dreams and live a successful life.

The Problem:

Teachers are not given access to the tools and information they need to inspire these students for the digital future.

As a society, we have accepted the fact that a certain number of schools, students and teachers will have access to tools & resources that put them at a significant advantage.

We have accepted this… as corporations increasingly push for more diversity within their organizations.

Diversity: Understanding that each individual is unique, and recognizing our individual differences. These can be along. the dimensions of race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, socio-economic status, age, physical abilities, religious beliefs, political beliefs, or other ideologies.

An effective modern workforce cannot include those who were placed at a significant advantage and those given the bare minimum that the system dictates.

Dreamers have no classification — within all of us there is a dreamer, a builder, a creator.

Technology has been a force multiplier to the value of our human interactions and has enabled massive change in industries around the world.

Powered by creatives, visionaries and people who have found a new and novel approach to doing things.

We are told these are the few and far between. So why dream? Why try?

Youth are not blind to the happenings in industry, but they are severely limited by the archaic methodologies of the education system.

We live in a digital age where the access to information is unlimited, yet the system operates with the view that knowledge should be restricted to that point in your life.

Knowledge is limited to your grade, your age, your school and your background.

If we are to effectively address this issue we must work together to inform stakeholders that the notion that millennials are inherently prepared for the digital age is simply not true.

The industry foundation is place to begin filtering down into our curiculums, but we must act in order to make it happen.

Collaboration is a key function of the modern workforce & this movement.

This dynamic journey will continue to change with the times, so it’s essential that we as technology leaders understand the importance of driving solutions together.
