What Is Good Writing?

Good, meaning desired or approved of, insinuates that the audience is who decides upon the writings goodness. I believe the goodness of writing should appeal to the targeted audience, but accomplishing that alone is not enough to make your writing good. I think first, the writing must be honest. Not only the integrity of the content but also honest by not masking rawness and expressiveness of the writer. The writing must be organized opposed to scattered and confusing, clearly portraying the desired point. Words contain power, so what you say and how you say it is important. Good writing triggers emotional response and captures the audience. Good writing is based off of solid knowledge, research, or experience. Great writing leaves the audience thinking long after it is read.
