Hello everyone and welcome to another of my wrestler of the week articles and the first of November! This week was packed with very competitive contests stretching across three different promotions and four different shows, with plenty of champions crowned and titles defended. This week I was most impressed with a innovator of Japanese pro wrestling who scored a major victory and made one of the biggest statements of the year so far as a result.

Wrestler Of The Week KENTA!

( above is a picture of current NJPW star Kenta that I found online.)

That’s right ladies and gentlemen this week's Wrestler Of The Week is none other than former WWE athlete, KENTA. ( previously known as Hideo Itami ) Who has been making waves ever since returning to his homeland of Japan and being a centerpiece of New Japan Pro Wrestling during the second half of 2019.

More specifically here’s what he did this week, he defended his NEVER OpenWeight Championship, in a hard-hitting and stellar contest against his rival Tomohiro Ishii in which he was victorious, and then helped his Bullet Club brethren Jay White retain his IWGP intercontinental championship later that night in the main event of the evening.

While I will admit there were other great matches this week such as Adam Cole versus Daniel Bryan for the NXT championship, and Dakota Kai and Tegan Nox versus the Kabuki Warriors for the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championships.

I’m giving KENTA a slight edge, because I felt like his win was a bigger deal because of the short defense average of the Never Openweight Championship making him the designated underdog for the contest, not to mention his interference in the main event did a good job setting up future stories for him which can be paid off down the road and the other championship matches this week didn’t necessarily do that.

Conclusion

I would just like to thank you all for reading this article as always your support means a lot to me and for those of you who didn’t see my Twitter message I plan on taking a step back from the AEW reviews because I’m not enjoying them that much for whatever reason and I want to put my time into stuff that I enjoy, however, I am trying to think of some fun articles I could over the next few weekends so I can keep up the same level of quality and consistency that you guys have come to expect from me over the past year thanks for everything and I’ll see you guys real soon. 👍
