About Me
My name is Brendon Gouveia, and I’m an MDES student. I was born and raised in Providence, Rhode Island and currently hold a BA in Graphic Design from Massart in Boston, Massachusetts. Before coming to Carnegie Mellon, I was an Interaction Designer at Continuum Innovation for two and a half years where I worked on a variety of projects ranging from redesigning how pharmacists order drugs to envisioning the future of parenting.
From my experience working in a consultancy, it seems to me that the biggest challenge for designers is making their ideas real products and not just another power point deliverable or beta prototype that is quickly forgotten by the client. I decided to come to Carnegie Mellon because of how its expertise in design, business, and technology, uniquely positions it to address these fundamental issues. I’m specifically interested in exploring this realm in the context of sustainability and healthcare.
When I’m not designing or learning about design, I like to spend my time travelling to new places. My most recent travelling endeavour was exploring the Grand Canyon .
