Still a chance to win on Instagram — #DreamHomeComp from @BresicWhitney

Checking in with Sydney-siders & their Sydney dream homes

We asked for Instagram photos of your ‘Sydney Dream Home’ and you delivered. The different interpretations have us mesmerised.

The idea was to see Instagram photos of Sydney homes that are picture perfect, with prizes on offer for any new uploads tagged @BresicWhitney and #DreamHomeComp.

We’ve seen the façades that line your walking/jogging routes, the properties you admire in your own streets, and the ones you pass on Sunday drives.

Check out some of our staff snaps for inspiration…

Meanwhile, more locals have offered inspiring thoughts on the matter:

In Paddington, Elke Kramer works on her jewellery brand at www.elkekramer.com, but she’s an Inner-West resident for now.

“I think I live on the pulse, colour and vibrancy of Sydney’s inner suburbs,” Elke says. “I love being on foot — I do my most creative thinking while I am en-route. There are pockets that are so honest and confronting, yet colourful and authentic.

“When I am on the coast I decide that’s where I need to live. But then I fantasise about occupying one of those outrageously huge warehouse spaces around Alexandria or Marrickville. I have great respect for people that can take a radical approach to living spaces.”

As for Elke’s dream home? “It’s a famed 20th-Century modernist building on Wylde St, Potts Point. Designed by architect Aaron Bolot, it was one of the most ambitious and largest buildings in inner-Sydney built following the 2nd world war.

“The building is curved and shaped like half a block of cheese, with each apartment sectioned like cheese wedges.” — Elke Kramer on 17 Wylde Street, Potts Point

From his Paddington firm Tobias Partners, architect Nick Tobias says his Bellevue Hill home is an expression his and wife Miranda Darling’s views on life, pragmatically, creatively and philosophically.

Darling Point residents tightly hold their area for Sydney Harbour views like this home:

“Our home is original, authentic, eclectic, and unique — for most people who visit it’s not what they expect of me. The suburb itself has its pros and cons but our actual overall situation is fantastic. If I could drop our home on the Harbour’s edge, I don’t think I could imagine anything better.”

Now, it’s back to you. We want to see more homes and scenes that you find personally inspiring.

Remember, share them with @BresicWhitney and tag them #DreamHomeComp to win.

Every Friday, we’re giving away a $300 voucher to dine at Jonah’s Whale Beach. Plus, on Wednesday March 19, one final winner will pick up a $1500 travel voucher from Flight Centre.

Continue snapping, and keep dreaming…
