Preparing for Alchemist Accelerator
As I am building unbank.ventures programming I am reaching out to fellow colleagues to learn what it takes to get into the best accelerator programs in Silicon Valley. The goal of unbank.ventures is to help early stage FinTech companies get into top rated accelerator programs, partner with corporations and raise seed stage funding.
I had the pleasure of speaking with my colleague Danielle D’Agostaro from Alchemist Accelerator. Danielle is a partner and COO of the acclaimed accelerator program located in the Silicon Valley. I have worked with the Alchemist while at LAUNCH and while working at Draper University. I am a huge fan of the work they are doing.
Here are some things you need to know before applying:
- The program is 100% enterprise focused. Consumer apps need not apply.
- They run 3 programs a year with an average class size of 17.
- The program is virtual with bi-weekly in person meetings.
- Mentors are not assigned but available through a database they have created.
- Their 2 most important criteria are Team & Technology.
- They do fund solo founders when they believe they possess both technical and business talent.
- Your company should be structured as a (Delaware) C-corporation.
- They recommend using Clerky to incorporate.
- The program is heavily focused on sales & marketing traction.
- Companies that understand who their customer is and how to reach then will get the most out of the program.
