Choi has very little value as an outfielder, to be honest. It’s merely a spot he’s capable of playing to get his bat in the lineup if necessary. Braun has been far better, especially of late, and Santana is still developing too. Choi isn’t going to get better defensively at this point.

As for pinch-hitting, there could be value there but given the roster limitations in the post-season, how do you carry him in the first place? Plus I’m personally just fine with whomever isn’t starting among Aguilar/Thames/Braun/Santana to pinch-hit late instead of Choi.
