The day was finally here, my luggage finally arrived at Accra! My sister kept me updated as she tracked my luggage; my bags were on two separate flights (this is stupid)! One flew from JFK to ACC, while the other flew from JFK to AMS to ACC. The airport is four hours from Cape Coast so we got an early start. This time I decided to ride in the front to prevent car sickness and so I could lean the seat back and nap. I literally slept the entire ride. After finding my luggage in this giant room with no help, Simone suggested I get more money out of the ATM in order to pay our driver. Bruh, wrong decision! As if my trip could get any worse, the ATM ate my damn card. Just to my luck, today is Sunday and the bank is closed. Majority of all places do not accept credit cards. So now I only have the little cash that’s in my purse and the money that it spit out.

As you could imagine, I was over the day and wondering was every other day going to be shitty for me. We proceed to go find our driver (Hasky) but he was nowhere to be found. By the grace of God, Simone phone actually was working (I clearly need to switch phone companies!). Hasky apparently was having some issues with the police because they said he dropped us off at the wrong spot. Long story short, we had to wait an hour and he had to pay 100 Cedi in order to get his car back. We were finally on our way to home base, which was another four hours away.

We arrived and I met the staff…our cook name is Joe, Domestic Cleaner: Nancy, Security Guard: Emmanuel, Intern: Mary, Coordinator: Lucy, New Driver: Francis, and Seamstress (I do not remember her ever giving her name).

The day wrapped up and I was able to get some reading done. To my surprise dinner was delicious; Joe made us a Chinese Pasta.
