How to tame your smartphone addiction
Like a lot of you, I’ve become completely and utterly addicted to my smartphone. More often than not, I can’t even watch an entire movie or TV show in one sitting because I miss so much while checking various apps on my phone.
Eric has some nice suggestions here, my favorite of which is to say “I don’t” instead of “I can’t” when talking about any addiction, including addiction to smartphones. So instead of saying “I can’t check my phone right now” say “I don’t check my phone when I’m __________.” This is a cool mental trick you can use to basically re-program your mind to have a healthier relationship with your phone.
