The (re)EDUCATION of Brother EDEN Douglas
I need help, to graduate and continue on to graduate school.
Please consider helping me to finish my Bachelor’s Degree in Liberal Arts/Africana Studies at The University of New Mexico in Albuquerque and continue on to Graduate School, in this 65th year of life.
As a retiree, help me not endure the weight of loans, post graduation (around the age of 66 in 2023) but also allow me the ability to focus on this intention, full time. I began this new chapter back in the Summer of 2019 at CNM, where I was blessed to make the Dean’s List, each semester, even while I struggled financially. Make no mistake, these classes continue to be intense in the concentration and focus it requires, made all the more-so, because of my own digital learning curve, having NOT been in school for so long and this new world of technological teaching has truly taken ‘miss a day, miss a week’ in college to a whole ‘nother level!!
And who knew that in 2020 we would be in the midst of COVID-19 and the ensuing protests following another senseless killing of an unarmed Black man, such that my (re)EDUCATION would be happening against this latest backdrop?! And yet, I graduated from CNM, December 2020, with Honors.
Now I’m scheduled to graduate on May 14, 2022 with my Bachelor’s, god willing if things stay the course, Summa Cum Laude, with a GPA, presently, of 4.05. I’m not sure of Graduate School beyond that, because of the financial pressures, but if I’m blessed to continue, I most likely will, beyond my official retirement age.
So whenever you find this campaign, just know this fund is about my whole (re)educational journey.
Bless You.
