Instead of Waiting for Climate Heroes, Let’s Look in the Mirror

We humans are much more instinctive than any of us would like to believe. We like to call it intuition, a feeling or just knowing. Our genes are programmed for the survival of the herd ( minimum sustainable group ). Our various human herds are doing just fine, in fact too fine the projected population growth will quickly exhaust the available resources and exacerbate the accelerating changes some of us are paying attention to.

We need to generate a new ethic of awareness of what humanness actually is. If indeed knowledge is power, it might be possible to hack our own base instincts and herd biases, and create a global herd united in fighting our common enemy. Ourselves and the selfishness, greed, cruelty, corruption and short sightedness inherent in us all. Maybe we should start with a global war on our one true enemy the mosquito.
