Tomorrow morning I leave for the US, to run the first event in The Scottish Startup Summit World Tour — The San Francisco Global Startup Summit. As part of this trip, we will take 6 of Scotland’s most innovative and dynamic entrepreneurs to Silicon Valley from 21st — 27th July, where we have meetings planned with executives in Apple, HP and eBay, as well as visits to key accelerators such as 500 Startups, Y-Comibator, Rocketspace and Tech Stars — all culminating in The San Francisco Global Startup Summit on 26th July at Rocketspace Studios.

At 20 years old, I feel incredibly fortunate that I have been able to create an organisation that has the sole focus of inspiring and supporting young entrepreneurs across the world. With the brilliant support from organisations such as RBS, Scottish Government, MBN Recruitment and Edinburgh Napier University, we are able to connect and inspire entrepreneurs from all walks of life.
Following The San Francisco Global Startup Summit, the next stop in the tour is Edinburgh for The Scottish Startup Summit. This year the summit is taking place at The Royal Bank of Scotland Global HQ in Edinburgh on the 18th November, where world leading entrepreneurs and organisations will gather to inspire, engage and connect with young entrepreneurs from across the UK.
From Edinburgh, we then head off to Abu Dhabi in December to run The Abu Dhabi Global Entrepreneurship Summit on 13th December in partnership with Abu Dhabi University. With an estimated 650 participants, this summit will be go be the catalyst for entrepreneurship across the region. We Are The Future are proud to partner with Abu Dhabi University to deliver a world class entrepreneurship event in December 2014.
For year two of the Scottish Startup Summit World Tour, we are in conversations with partners to deliver events in Hong Kong, Switzerland and New York. How did this begin?
Three years ago, at 17 years old and in my final year at High School I decided I wanted to run an event to inspire young people to consider becoming an entrepreneur.
Three years on, I have been fortunate enough to have gathered support from some of the worlds leading entrepreneurs, built a team of incredibly hard working individuals, put on Europe's largest entrepreneurship summit during Global Entrepreneurship Week, launched in San Francisco and Abu Dhabi, as well creating a government backed initiative to empower local communities to run their own entrepreneurship events.
