Some good responses here. I’ll be clear: I love Medium and I recommend it to new writers who are afraid of the technical challenges of blogging… but you don’t own your content or this platform or any other. They can change the terms at any time.

Example: just after I published this post I got email form Medium explaining they are now charging USD75 for new custom domains. I’m fine with the fee but it’s a good example of what happens when you play on someone else’s platform.
