Keeping of Time
A learn to forget.
Graciously the haunting host;
Clutched ghost,
Grown on bone, sinew and gut.
Mouth sand dry
Yet, an unmoored alone.
A step, to step, to step.
A nail-cling to crawl.
The instinct-survival of ‘try’.
Captivated in the continuum,
Calls to faraway landings.
Luscious allure.
Doors to open doors.
Death be it only
As the last breath
Whisps ‘die’.
All else alive.
The briefest of hellos,
The brevity, goodbye.
