How the Great Recession Changed our Investment Philosophy

The Great Recession changed a lot about how I viewed my career. It felt like the odds were against me on launching a career, let alone I felt like I was failing to keep my Dads investment property in tact (one of our buildings burned halfway down due to a negligent resident). This was a tough time because this happened days before Bear Stearns collapsed.

wait, there’s more…

Did I mention our original loan had been with Washington mutual? Needless to say, the bank was motivated to call our loan since the world as we knew it was changing soon enough. Bear was gone, Lehman was out, WaMu and Wachovia disappeared, and that’s where my passion for Real Estate started. I was only a teenager when all this happened, so one could understand why I may be a little more conservative in my investment philosophy compared to others.
