LA 2028: Bicycles, The Boring Company & Elon Musk, and Better Buildings (#GTFIH)
The city is changing and we have multiple avenues that people are exploring to help alleviate the congestion and pollution we face on a daily basis.

As the City strives to promote transportation oriented communities — meaningful changes are on the horizon for how people get around the urban core.
From Subways to Bicycle lanes to even a futuristic sled — this is just the beginning for what the future has in store for the City of Angels.

Here are a few excerpts for how our city is professing on becoming greener, walkable, and more sustainable:
In hopes of making strides against the current housing epidemic, Real Estate Developers are turning to bicycle racks as a means to reduce parking requirements for new developments.
This comes as a response from the City as they implemented new bicycle lanes to reduce the infamous LA congestion.

The City of Hawthorne recently approved a two mile tunnel for Elon Musk to test out his concept for The Boring Company.
Over the coming five months they will be digging 44 feet into the earth to installing sleds that transport cars and small shuttles at speeds in excess of 120 mph.

As the MTA Purple Line presses forward in anticipation of the Miracle Mile inauguration (slated for October) .
We are seeing an average of 40 truckloads of materials being shuttled on a daily basis as the crews are progressing at a pace of 60 feet per 24 hour period.

In sum, as the current housing crisis has us handcuffed by economic and public policy issues — I expect these novel solutions to have a meaningful impact on our city from a sociological, environmental, and even psychological standpoint.
All in all, I hope these measures improve the quality of life for our residents.
