Tin Idol dominated the newly added Metal category, and this year their artists also won awards in the Contemporary Acoustic Album, R&B Album, and Rock Album categories.

## Winners Determined by HARA Membership

The winners in 29 categories were determined by the membership of the Hawaii Academy of Recording Arts. Additionally, six other categories were selected by panels of specialists, including two Hawaiian-language categories, two engineering categories, Liner Notes, and Graphics. The winner in the International Recognition Album category was also adjudicated, although the criteria for eligibility and the qualifications of the adjudicators have not been disclosed. The Favorite Entertainer award is determined by public vote.
